Workshop 1: Introduction to Mixed Methods Research
Thursday 11 August, 1pm to 2.30pm
Mixed method research involves combing aspects of qualitative and quantitative methods in a range of different ways. This introductory workshop provides a general overview of mixed-methods research. Topics include - defining mono, multi and mixed methods research, when is a mixed-methods approach useful? What are the various ways you might mix methods? Strengths, challenges and good practice in mixed methods studies.
Workshop 2: Using Mixed Methods in Case Study and Evaluation Research
Tuesday 23 August, 1pm to 2.30pm
Building on the first workshop, we define and explore case study and evaluation research, before looking at how mixed-methods approaches can work well within these two contexts. We consider paradigm issues, key steps for data gathering and analysis, and reporting results.
Workshop 3: Mixed Methods Q & A Masterclass
Thursday 25 August, 1pm to 2.30pm
This is an interactive workshop based on questions from students who have attended workshops 1 and/or 2. Please submit your questions by midday via this form by Wednesday 24th August at 3 PM the latest and we will workshop them during this 90-minute session.
