PhD in Information Systems and Business Process Management
Professor Philip Seltsikas is the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Engagement and Success at Charles Darwin University. Professor Seltsikas is an internationally recognised tertiary education professional with extensive leadership experience across a broad range of portfolio areas. He was formerly at the University of Sydney (2007-2018), where he held several executive leadership positions, managing both undergraduate and postgraduate areas. Prior to that he worked at universities in the United Kingdom where he managed large multinational projects to engage in research and development involving business and government. He grew up in Australia and the United Kingdom, and has worked in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and for shorter periods in a number of European countries and in the USA.
He is a graduate of Aston University (UK), Aston Business School with a BSc (Hons.) in Managerial and Administrative Studies, an MSc (Research) in Business Management, and a PhD in Information Systems and Business Process Management. He was the recipient of the prestigious Xerox (Europe, Africa and Middle East) Research Scholarship. His research has spanned a number of business and government technology domains – process management, application service provision, digital identity management, and more recently cybersecurity.
While at the University of Sydney, Professor Seltsikas led a number of strategic portfolios and was responsible for leading and developing the Global Industry Placement Program to create industry partnerships with hundreds of corporate partners from around the world.
With his extensive track record in quality improvement, organisational growth, and student success, he has become known as a turnaround strategist.
