SITSS00055 Responsible Service of Alcohol

This skill set is for personnel involved in the sale, service, and promotional service of alcohol in licensed premises. It also applies to the licensee, who is ultimately responsible for managing the responsible service of alcohol.

There is a component of practical hands-on and role play delivery in the Training Bar. This delivery is supported by theory-based activities and assessment tasks. Delivery is conducted over 1 days at either CDU Palmerston or Alice Springs Campus.

Entry requirements

You must:

  • be 18 years or older; and
  • not be attending secondary school; and
  • be able to demonstrate appropriate language, literacy, and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake this course. This is demonstrated if you have completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Year 11 or higher, Australian Certificate III or higher, or by completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Essential requirements

To gain entry into SITSS00055 Responsible Service of Alcohol candidates must be domestic students aged 15 years or above. Applicants will be required to complete a learner support assessment to determine any support needs.

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a Northern Territory resident
  • an Australian citizen, permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen who has resided in Australia for a minimum of six months

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a resident of the Northern Territory; and
  • a temporary visa holder who:
    • does not have work or study restrictions
    • has a valid visa for the duration of the training, allowing for the total volume of learning required to achieve the qualification, including supervised and unsupervised training and study
    • is not the primary provisional visa holder of a skilled, business innovation and investment, student, work or holiday visa identified on the Department of Home Affairs website.

Course structure

This training program covers one (1) unit of competency taken from the SIT Training Package which is recognised nationwide.

Students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon completion.
