Overview

Strengthen your skills and knowledge as a vocational trainer in being able to identify the Foundation Skills requirements that are critical to vocational competence in training and assessment.

This skill set provides guidance on how to access resources, which includes collaboration with Foundation Skills specialists, in order to plan, design and address Foundation Skills using integrated approaches to meet the needs of the learner group.

This Skill Set meets the requirements to assess units from the Foundation Skills (FSK) Training Package units, who must possess TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set (or equivalent) or a relevant higher-level education qualification.

Skill recognition

Skills recognition is not applicable to this course. CDU's short courses are highly targeted courses designed to help you improve a specific skill. They will help you improve your career prospects, maintain currency in your field, or allow you to try out something completely new.

Pathways

VET to Higher Education Pathway Mapping for completed Awards in the same field or discipline.

These units are elective units in the TAE Training and Assessment Training Package. They may be used to provide credit towards TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. These units may also be used as elective units within the flexibility provisions of a range of other vocational qualifications.

Fees

Fee-Free TAFE: eligible NT government supported students who apply between 1 January and 31 March 2023 will have tuition fees waived.

2023 course fee for students who are not eligible is $900.00.

To achieve the skill set TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set a total of three (3) units of competency may be completed as listed below.

Admission criteria

To ensure you have the right skills and support to succeed in your course, a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

To gain entry into TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set candidates are required to:

  • Provide evidence they have access to or are engaged with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or organisation where accredited training is being provided.
  • Prior completion of TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Computer skills to produce professional business documents
  • Access to a computer
  • Access to individuals and groups requiring training
