VTP323 Use Structured Query Language

SQL is the standard language for creating, manipulating and accessing relational database management systems. This unit is designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of the SQL syntax used with relational databases, with many in class examples and exercises. It applies to individuals in a wide variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles where relational databases and SQL are being used.

Delivery and assessment resources are accessed online. Assessments are to be submitted by specified due dates. Students are required to attend online workshops.

Career opportunities

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use a structured query language (SQL) to define, create, and manipulate database structures, and the associated data in a relational database.

Entry requirements

You must:

  • be 18 years or older; and
  • not be attending secondary school; and
  • be able to demonstrate appropriate language, literacy, and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake this course. This is demonstrated if you have completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Year 11 or higher, Australian Certificate III or higher, or by completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Essential requirements

It is recommended that students have prior knowledge of SQL as this is not a begginer level course.

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a Northern Territory resident; and
  • an Australian citizen, permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen who has resided in Australia for a minimum of six months

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a resident of the Northern Territory; and
  • a temporary visa holder who:
    • does not have work or study restrictions
    • has a valid visa for the duration of the training, allowing for the total volume of learning required to achieve the qualification, including supervised and unsupervised training and study
    • is not the primary provisional visa holder of a skilled, business innovation and investment, student, work or holiday visa identified on the Department of Home Affairs website.

To achieve the vocational training program VTP323 - Use Structured Query Language a total of one (1) unit of competency must be completed as listed below.

Students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.
