Overview
This course covers the development of plans and policies to ensure regulatory requirements are met in conducting a contracting business, regulatory compliance, occupational and workplace relation requirements associated with functions and responsibilities of a contracting business. It encompasses applying knowledge of compliance regulations and standards, legislated obligations in relation to safety, the environment, heritage sites and employment and human resources.
Taking into consideration current practices in working safely and verifying compliance of electrical installations and working safely, with procedures for rescue from contact with live parts and for applying emergency first aid. It also encompasses current practices in visual inspections and mandatory compliance testing, identifying non-compliance defects and mandatory reporting requirements.
Delivery is Online through ZOOM and includes 4 weeks comprising 2 x one-hour ZOOM classes each week. The remainder is self-paced study time of around 10 weeks.

Entry requirements
Admission criteria
To gain entry into, VTP340 Electrical Contractors Course, students are required to hold a current `Unrestricted Electrician's Licence' issued in an Australian State or Territory for at least 18 months, with a current `HLTAID001' provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, less than 2 years since being issued.
