This course is appropriate for a person who is looking for a career in the Fitness Industry as an Aqua Instructor / Aqua Trainer. Content areas covered include everything from circuit classes, interval training, deep water, shallow water, water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills using drills, activities and games and heaps more. You are sure to walk away with an awesome bank of variations in aquatically designed exercise programs to incorporate in your classes and teach, train, educate and motivate your participants with. Students will also learn to evaluate aquatic emergencies and respond appropriately with basic water rescues that incorporate CPR.

Aquatic exercise provides one of the most effective forms of resistance training available with stresses placed upon muscles through a full range of motion as you move through the water. Teaching aqua opens up your clientele base to a huge variety of people and includes elderly, pre-natal, rehabilitation, sporting athletes and teams and that¿s just a few!

To gain entry into VTP353 Aqua Instructor Specialisation, candidates require:

>A current Apply First Aid certificate

All VET International applicants are required to meet the English language proficiency for their chosen course of study.


This is a non-award course and a Statement of Attainment will be issued for nationally recognised units of competency successfully completed.

NT Government subsidised places are available for this course.
2021: VET Tuition Fees for 2021 will be charged at $3.50 per nominal hour for subsidised training. More detailed Information about 2021 VET Tuition fees for eligible NT residents will be published in the 2021 VET Student Guide or VET Fees.
2022: VET Tuition Fees for 2022 will be published no later than 1 December 2021.
