Professional recognition
Each State and Territory in Australia has requirements for students undertaking courses involving clinical placements outside their employment to provide documented evidence of relevant health and security checks, e.g. completed immunisation requirements, criminal record checks and/or working with children clearances and/or fitness to practice requirements.
Students must have met the above requirements that are mandatory in their State or Territory before they can undertake those units that include clinical placements outside their employment. Students who have not met these mandatory requirements and not been cleared by the clinical sector to undertake clinical experience will not be able to undertake clinical practice experience and will not therefore be able to complete the requirements of the course.
