As a public health specialist, you will have the knowledge and tools to investigate, critique, manage and respond to complex health and social issues in both local and global contexts.
This course builds up skills in interpreting health information, including epidemiology, statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Specialising in either public health practice, Indigenous health or global health, you will focus on designing and evaluating public health interventions, aimed at prevention, protection and promotion of health in the community.
Career opportunities
Graduating from this course may lead to career opportunities in a broad range of public health roles in government and non-government organisations (NGO) or you may move into our Master of Public Health.

(b) a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident visa holder who will be resident within Australia for the duration of the unit.

Course structure
Students are required to complete 4 core units and 4 specialist electives. Specialist electives may be selected from ANY of the three streams: public health practice, Indigenous health and global health. For those students planning to articulate to a Master of Public Health and who wish to complete a research project, Health Policy is recommended as a specialist elective unit.
Delivered externally online; some units are offered with an internal option.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.
