VTP298 Mentor Others in the Workplace

2021

This program covers the skills and knowledge required to establish and develop a professional mentoring relationship with an individual in the workplace.

It is suitable for workplace supervisors or other work colleagues who work under limited supervision and who have responsibility for mentoring one or more individuals in the workplace.

All training resources and assessments are available to students online via CDUs online learning platform Learnline.

It is expected that students will be able to commit approximately 1 - 2 hours per week to completing learning and assessment activities.

Entry requirements

You must:

  • be 18 years or older; and
  • not be attending secondary school; and
  • be able to demonstrate appropriate language, literacy, and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake this course. This is demonstrated if you have completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Year 11 or higher, Australian Certificate III or higher, or by completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a Northern Territory resident; and
  • an Australian citizen, permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen who has resided in Australia for a minimum of six months

Fees

To be eligible for an NT Government funded place you must be:

  • a resident of the Northern Territory; and
  • a temporary visa holder who:
    • does not have work or study restrictions
    • has a valid visa for the duration of the training, allowing for the total volume of learning required to achieve the qualification, including supervised and unsupervised training and study
    • is not the primary provisional visa holder of a skilled, business innovation and investment, student, work or holiday visa identified on the Department of Home Affairs website.

Course structure

To achieve the vocational training program VTP298 - Mentor Others in the Workplace a total of one (1) unit of competency must be completed as listed below.

Students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

The total Nominal Hours for this training program is 30.
