Donydji - Mid term Report

Joanne has been frustrated by her attempts to progress further with TAA 40104 Certificate IV and with involving the community members in the project. This frustration is due to the school computer failing over two months ago. This computer has not been repaired to date, though she has just gained use of another early model laptop that can only access the internet through the telephone line. In order to overcome these difficulties Joanne has organized leave from teaching to come to Darwin and work intensively with Lorna, Bryce and John.

Donydji residents are also frustrated with not yet being able to become familiar with computers and learn to use the internet for banking. There is a currently a queue for people waiting for the Joanne to teach them how to use the computer for internet banking when it is back online. We are currently pulling out all stops to sort out this problem and are hoping that Telstra will be able to help upgrade the modem so that a wireless network can be established.
