Tribal Edge is a cloud-based Student Information System (SIS). Through its underlying interfaces, data structures and embedded analytics it enables value-add solutions to be accessed and used by Callista system users. Access to Tribal Edge can be granted through Callista security roles.

Database Administrators create Security Roles for use in Callista. A user with a particular Security Role is granted access to a range of functionality as required by, and defined for, users that perform that role. These grants include Edge Roles, which are assigned in this form. Users with various Edge Roles will have access to different Edge functionality as defined within Tribal Edge.
The System Edge Role assigned to a Security Role will be returned to Edge when a user with that Security Role logs into Edge. Edge can then determine authorisation to applications based on the user's Edge Roles.

This form is used to assign Edge Role(s) to a Callista Security Role. Access to various functions within Edge will be defined for that Edge Role within Tribal Edge. These roles are defined as:

  • Statutory - This role provides users with access to the AU Compliance section in Edge and allows them to use the Submissions area, so Course of Study and Course, etc. These users are are allowed to view and edit the Compliance data once it’s loaded into Edge and submit the data to the Government.
i.e The users that would have previously run the Statistics Jobs in Callista SMS before TCSI.

  • StatutoryAdmin - this role is only for an administrator and allows the administrator to access the PRODA Settings. This grants access to devices to enable them to communicate with the Government.

This form is accessed via SECF0063.
Alternatively, SECF0085 – Maintain Person Edge Role Grant can be accessed via SECF0062 – Maintain Person Function Grants to assign Edge Role Grants at the Person level.
