CDU Scholarships

CDU scholarships are sponsored by individuals, businesses, government, community groups and the University, to assist students with the financial burden of studying.

We offer scholarships in many categories. A number of scholarships give the opportunity to participate in paid work experience during semester breaks.

Congratulations

Congratulations to all our 2016 High Achiever Award recipients (PDF32KB) and our Semester 1, 2016 Scholarship recipients (PDF38KB).

Announcements

Semester 2 scholarship applications are now open.

There are a limited number of scholarships offered in semester 2, and those available are now open with applications closing at 3pm on Friday 5 August.  No further scholarships will be open this semester.

Please note that the majority of our scholarships are offered and awarded in semester 1, however we leave the PDF terms and conditions documents on the website throughout the year to provide the range of scholarships on offer by the University.  Applications for semester 1, 2017 will open in early October 2016.

A full list of available scholarships can be found under Scholarship Categories

Review all categories to identify which scholarships you may be eligible to apply for and submit a separate application for each one.

You can apply for multiple scholarships as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

'Eligibility and Selection Criteria' for each scholarship can be found in the Terms and Conditions in the Scholarship Categories.

Scholarships with a green 'Open' button are currently accepting applications.

Scholarships

To apply for a scholarship you need to complete the online Scholarship Application Form.

Part of your online application will require you to complete a supporting statement and instructions for completing your statement are included in the form.  The Scholarships Guide will also give you advice on information to include in your statement.

Hints for completing your supporting statement

  • ensure you address all the selection criteria paying particular attention to the first criteria as this is often the most important to the panel
  • remember to tell the panel something extra about yourself, for example your career goals;  how being awarded this scholarship will affect you or any special circumstances for the panel's consideration
  • if you are completing multiple applications, copy and save your supporting statement in a separate document, to allow you to copy and paste relevant information into your other applications.  It is very important to ensure you address all of the selection criteria in each scholarship application - don't just copy and paste the same information into each application.
  • DO NOT attach your supporting statement to your application.  Your statement is limited to 1000 words and must be written in the free type box.

Additional Supporting Material

  • You can only upload one file which must be less than 2MB.
  • Past and present CDU students do not need to upload academic transcripts
  • New CDU students can provide transcripts of most recent grades from university or high school.

After Submission

  • You will immediately receive an automated reply acknowledging receipt of your application.
  • Within 2-3 days you will receive a confirmation email from the Scholarships office.  If you are required to submit further documentation you will be advised in this email.

Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships

To apply for a scholarship you will need to complete the online Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarship Application Form.  The one application will assess you for each type of scholarship available.
