Dr Farha Sattar

Dr Farha Sattar is a Lecturer in Education (Mathematics) at the Faculty of Arts and Society. With an exceptional background in mathematics, and geospatial science and a passion for advancing STEM education, Dr. Sattar's expertise spans various disciplines, including mathematics and geoscience education, STEM education, cognitive development, experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, drone technology, GIS and remote sensing.

As a certified drone Pilot and Aeronautical Radio Operator, Dr. Sattar possesses a unique combination of skills that bridge the realms of education and technology. Her proficiency in quantitative techniques and methodologies positions her as a capable supervisor for postgraduate research projects, fostering the growth of aspiring researchers under her guidance. She employs novel methodologies and continuously seeks new ways to enrich pedagogical practices.

Dr. Sattar actively engages with industry, community organizations and groups to promote the significance of STEM education. She is a consultant with various NT Government projects. Her connections with networks provide opportunities for her research students to be engaged with industry and community engagement activities.

Acknowledged for her impactful contributions, Dr. Sattar is the recipient of the prestigious STEM Hero of the Year award for NT – a state level award —a testament to her dedication and influence in the field.
