Dr Taslima Khanam

Dr. Taslima Khanam is a passionate researcher in the field of life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle nergy assessment (LCEA) across diverse engineering technologies, products, and systems. With a wealth of experience, she has specialized in conducting quantitative assessments of a wide range of environmental impact indicators. These encompass carbon footprint, stratospheric ozone depletion, ozone formation, fine particulate matter formation, acidification, eutrophication (both freshwater and marine), human toxicity (carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic), ecotoxicity (terrestrial, freshwater, and ecotoxicity), ionizing radiation, land use, mineral resource scarcity, fossil resource scarcity, and water consumption. Dr. Khanam's research endeavours centre on comparative sustainability assessments, evaluating the environmental impacts of existing and emerging technologies worldwide. She excels in proposing innovative strategies, processes, systems, or materials aimed at mitigating these impacts.

Research interests:

  • Life cycle assessment
  • Carbon footprint assessment
