A Charles Darwin University (CDU) alumnus has received top honours at the Australian Human Rights Commission’s awards gala, using his acceptance speech to push for nationalised human rights legislation.
Trong studied a Bachelor of Engineering with honours at CDU, majoring in electrical engineering. He now works as an electrical engineer at APD Engineering and has never looked back.
Passionate about ecology and wildlife, Larissa Potter graduated from CDU with a Bachelor of Science with first class Honours. She was nominated by her lecturers as a Valedictorian for her outstanding academic record. Here's her full graduation speech, where she recounts what sparked her move to Darwin from Sydney, and where she shares her experiences doing field work on the Tiwi Islands while searching for the elusive, tiny mammal called Butler’s Dunnart.

Margaret Turnbull began her online law degree at Charles Darwin University with a one-year-old on her knee, and had her second child in her second semester of study. Margaret also managed to win eight awards and two scholarships, including one for a stint at Harvard Law School. And she graduated in only four years, with first class honours. Wow.
