The primary role of University Operations is to facilitate the University's goals, as stated in the Strategic Plan 2015-2025, and activities, through pro-active management and responsible leadership in the efficient acquisition and use of resources.
University Operations encompasses the following:
Alumni and Giving
The Advancement team leads the University’s philanthropic and engagement activities through its connections with CDU Alumni, CDU Foundation, government and industry stakeholders, communities and individuals. We work with these groups and individuals in our local region, throughout Australia and internationally.
Emergency management provides information on what to do before, during and after emergencies for staff, students and visitors.
Facilities Management is responsible for managing the University’s estates, including infrastructure, assets and the delivery of a suite of facilities services to support the achievement of the University’s strategic plan.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor for Indigenous Leadership and Regional Outreach (PVCILRO), is an Aboriginal lead Portfolio. We are uniquely dedicated to Indigenous capacity building, including in Indigenous research and our community engagement.
Information Technology Management and Support (ITMS)
ITMS is responsible for the provision of information technology and communication systems to all stakeholders including staff, student and faculty groups.
ITMS develops, implements and maintains information systems ranging from small unit orientated systems to major strategic enterprise systems. These developments are planned and executed by CDU policy and processes and government and regulatory requirements.
The Library provides high-quality information resources, services and facilities to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the CDU community. CDU's Library ensures resources are available in all formats, provides a flexible and dynamic information literacy program and a research support service for staff and students.
CDU's Library also maintains eSpace, the University’s institutional repository of research outputs, and provides a range of physical learning spaces for students.
Major Projects provides a range of planning and construction services to enable University staff to meet the University's Strategic objectives on all campuses. The office provides services for the full life of a project from conceptual plans to funding submissions and managing the capital project works. Major Projects advise new facilities and also manages the refurbishment of existing infrastructure.

Marketing, Media and Communications
The primary role of Marketing, Media and Communications is to develop and deliver the Marketing, Media and Communications strategic plan.
MMC operate and manage marketing, development and implementation of the corporate functions at CDU, corporate brand, student recruitment and events, faculty and course promotion, web services, media and photography, and sponsorship.

Strategic Communications is responsible for supporting the Vice-Chancellor and executive leaders, in delivering messaging to both internal and external audiences. Strategic Communications also manages Territory FM radio station.

People and Capability
People and Capability are responsible for the development of human resource strategies, and programs related to workforce relations, planning and development, and health and safety compliance across all campuses and remote area groups.
OPC also delivers recruitment and payroll business services.

Strategic Services and Governance
Strategic Services and Governance manage policy and delegations, provide governance services, operate the complaints management unit, support our council, board and committees and provide advice on legal, privacy and freedom of information.
Strategic services also maintain the CDU Glossary of terms.
Student Administration (SA) operates Student Central , the CDU enquiries hub at Casuarina, Waterfront Darwin and Alice Springs Campuses.
SA manages all aspects of Higher Education admissions, enrolments and fees. Across the Higher Education and VET sectors, SA administer scholarships, student records, examinations and timetabling.
SA provides the development, operation and support for the Student Management System (Callista) and coordinates the University's graduation ceremonies.
Student Engagement (SE) provides a range of support for all students to help them succeed at CDU.
This includes counselling, access & inclusion, accommodation, careers & employment services and study skills & English language support. SE also hosts the National Disability Liaison Officer in the Northern Territory.
SE provides support for Student Groups and manages CDU’s equity & outreach programs, Aspire and Children’s University.
SE oversees CDU’s Orientation program and manages academic engagement & progression initiatives linked to improving retention.
