Presentation by Professor Dianne Stephens_The CDU Menzies School of Medicine at the Better Health Futures Symposium
The intent of this document is to define areas on University premises that are strictly smoke-free in compliance with government legislation. It is also to inform all members of the University community about how to access the wellness programs and support mechanisms that are in place and are designed to encourage people to improve their health by ceasing to smoke.
This procedure provides the framework for incident notification, reporting, classification and investigation for all University campus’ and facilities. This ensures all work health and safety (WHS) incidents including near misses are reported, recorded and sufficiently investigated to produce appropriate corrective actions to minimise the chance of repeat incidents.
This procedure outlines how to identify “reasonably foreseeable” work health and safety hazards, assess the risk associated with those hazards, implement controls to eliminate or minimise the risk so far as is reasonably practicable and review the implemented controls to ensure they are and remain effective.
