The Chinese In-Country language program is an excellent opportunity for students to experience Chinese culture first hand. CDU's four-week Chinese In-Country language program takes place at our partner institution, Anhui Normal University. The program caters for relative beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers of Mandarin. These levels don't correspond to the six levels of the CDU Chinese program in a straightforward way, so you will be placed in an appropriate level after taking a test at the start of the program.

Dr Farha Sattar is a Lecturer in Education (Mathematics) at the Faculty of Arts and Society. With an exceptional background in mathematics, and geospatial science and a passion for advancing STEM education, Dr. Sattar's expertise spans various disciplines, including mathematics and geoscience education, STEM education, cognitive development, experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, drone technology, GIS and remote sensing.
Six Charles Darwin University (CDU) TAFE students from across the Northern Territory travelled to Melbourne to compete in the WordSkills National championships. These students whose expertise range from Beauty Therapy to Electrotechnology showcased their skills and knowledge in front of more than 200,000 people. CDU VET in school student (VETiS) Khiandra Fabian won the Bronze Medal for VETiS Business Services.

In recent years both scientists and society in general have come to increasingly accept that fish are capable of pain, and possibly even suffering. Interventions to improve fish welfare in aquaculture have focused on removing negative welfare, but we have begun to look at how to provide positive welfare for these animals in our care. This seminar will cover what that means, what we know, and where we are going in this field.
A new course offering at Charles Darwin University is looking to save lives, while capturing venomous and nonvenomous snakes. For the first time CDU is offering a Snake ID, capture and relocate course, the short course will benefit people who regularly encounter snakes in their work or living spaces or for people who would like to enhance their knowledge of snakes and reptiles in Australia.
In a bid to help clear the Gulf of Carpentaria of marine debris, Charles Darwin University (CDU) will undertake a project that will use long-distance uncrewed autonomous aircraft to identify and map the distribution of ghost nets across nearly 958 km of NT coastline.
Fifteen students identified through local jobs program and in partnership with Charles Darwin University TAFE Alice Springs will complete a 10-week intensive pre-employment program this week. The program looked at skills required for the successful placement of individuals into the construction industry including Traffic Management, Loader Operations, Skid Steer Operations White Card, Work Health and Safety requirements, Excavation operations and more.
New First Nations tourism training is helping to build the professional credentials, business acumen and interpersonal skills of Aboriginal people, and in turn, secure new jobs and career options for Aboriginal communities in Central Australia. The training is also building capacity in the Red Centre tourism industry, where there is significant international and domestic demand for First Nations tour guides, who can provide authentic cultural perspective and knowledge of the country’s desert heart.
