
Ms Lydia Agius
Lydia Agius is a proud Ngan'gikurunggurr, Ngan'giwumerri, Kaurna and Narungga woman who brings a strong foundation of knowledge and lived experience to her work. With an extensive background in higher education and First Nations student support, Lydia has held key roles at institutions such as the University of Adelaide’s Wirltu Yarlu, the Lowitja Institute, Menzies School of Health Research, and the University of South Australia.
Throughout her career, Lydia has led initiatives focused on student pathways, workforce development, mentoring, and community engagement. She played a pivotal role in the design and coordination of the Biyamarr Ma Traineeship program at Menzies and has actively contributed to national networks supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers.
Lydia holds formal qualifications in management, training and assessment, and Indigenous leadership, all of which underpin her dynamic and inclusive leadership style. Her holistic approach and deep commitment to student success make her a valued advocate in the space of Indigenous education and empowerment.
