The Centre for Youth and Community Music conducts a comprehensive program of music theory education, which gives students a formal introduction to musical concepts and practices. Our goal is to guide our students through the Musicianship program and help them improve their practical ability through aural and theoretical understanding.
This program is suitable and recommended for children who are eight years and older and/or undertaking practical exams at Grade 3 or higher.
Classes can lead to exams for preliminary Grades 1 and Grade 2/3 Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). Classes for higher grades can be made available by negotiation.
Attending these classes is essential for all students. Good musicians have excellent Musicianship skills. The cost is included in your Individual/Ensemble fee, so don't miss the opportunity to learn Music Theory and Musicianship.
