International VET packages

As one of the only Australian universities with dual-sector status, CDU can offer both Vocational Education and Training (VET) and higher education courses. CDU believes that every learner should be provided with alternative pathways to access education and to acquire globally applicable skills and experience.

VET packages and pathway options

CDU offers many pathways and options for your career. Students can qualify for entry into a CDU bachelor’s degree by completing a CDU VET qualification.

VET packages let you study a number of VET courses together or combine them with a Higher Education course.

Frequently asked questions

What is VET?

Vocational Education and Training (VET) is an education and training option that builds on more job-related technical skills and practical work skills. We consult with industry and business regularly to match our training with their needs, so that you can choose a course that meets your needs.

Why should I study a VET package?

A VET package provides a pathway into further study, with some undergraduate courses available to students who have completed a certificate IV or higher.

What are the entry requirements for a VET package?

To study a VET Package at CDU, you must meet the required English and academic entry requirements.

All of the VET packages start with a certificate program, to meet academic requirements for entry into a certificate you will require a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 10.

If your previous study was undertaken in a language other than English, you may need to take an English language test to demonstrate you meet the English language requirements for your package. If you have previously studied in English, you may be exempt. Your eligibility will be assessed as part of your application.

English tests and levels we accept:

  • IELTS Academic Module: A minimum overall score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): A minimum overall score of 165
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module: A minimum overall score of 42 with no less than 36 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
  • TOEFL Internet based Test (iBT): A minimum overall score of 46 with a minimum writing score of 21.
