CDU Casuarina Campus Open Day: Experience campus life for yourself
From VR and robotics to live music and research tours, Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Casuarina Campus will open its doors this Saturday, 16 August, from 9am to 1pm, inviting visitors to experience the University first-hand.
As the Northern Territory’s largest higher education and TAFE hub, CDU Casuarina will showcase the breadth of its study and research through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and behind-the-scenes access to its facilities.
The day will have a festival feel, with live performances, competitions, and plenty to eat and drink, hosted by well-known MC Amy Hetherington.
Faculty staff and current students will also be on hand throughout the day to answer questions, guide tours, and share what it’s like to study at CDU.
Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Scott Bowman said Open Day is the perfect opportunity to experience CDU first-hand.
“It’s when we open our doors to the community and bring the CDU student experience to life,” Professor Bowman said.
“From engineering and nursing to IT, trades, and the creative arts - our courses, our facilities, and most importantly, our people will be on show.
“This is how we inspire the next generation and showcase the quality and character of a CDU education.
“Whether you’re looking for vocational training, a degree, or a pathway into study, you’ll see why CDU is one of Australia’s top universities for graduate employment outcomes."
All four faculties will be running demonstrations and displays throughout the day:
- Health: Paramedic scenarios, sports science demonstrations, and insights into how disciplines like audiology, physiotherapy, and nutrition work together to improve health,
- Science and Technology: Cyber security, AI, engineering, Questacon interactive exhibits, and large drone demonstrations,
- Arts and Society: Live music, early childhood activities, a photography competition, and 3D projection mapping, and
- CDU TAFE: Practical experiences in aquaculture, tourism, automotive, welding, and hair and beauty.
With more than 300 courses across vocational and higher education, CDU offers flexible pathways for learners at every stage.
The CDU Casuarina Campus is on Ellengowan Drive, Brinkin, with free parking available.
