CDU TAFE welcomes RTO re-registration
Charles Darwin University (CDU) TAFE has received the maximum term possible of seven years of re-registration as a National Vocational Education and Training Regulator registered training organisation (RTO).
Last week the University received its official letter of registration from the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVR Act).
Receiving this means CDU TAFE can continue to provide quality vocational education and training that is recognised nationally and is compliant with the 2025 RTO standards.
CDU Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive TAFE Michael Hamilton said receiving the maximum term possible was testament to the work that CDU TAFE continues to do and the evidence submitted as part of the re-accreditation process.
“This result is the work done by teams across the university and TAFE and a testament to ASQA’s processes that provided us with an avenue to highlight the work that we do and the outcomes it is achieving,” Mr Hamilton said.
“We are looking forward to continuing our work as an RTO with the confidence and reputational benefits this re-registration provides.”
It comes after the University launched CDU TAFE in 2023, with the offering growing from strength to strength in the years since.
“CDU’s TAFE offering has been received exceptionally well over the last few years, and I hope to see it grow and continue to improve over these next seven years,” Mr Hamilton said.
“I’m particularly looking forward to attracting top teaching talent to bolster our workforce and give students the very best experience we can offer.”
CDU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Scott Bowman said this was an extraordinary result for the dual-sector University.
“It is a credit to the dedication and expertise of so many people from across CDU, especially in the TAFE and Academic Quality and Integrity teams,” Professor Bowman said.
“This is a milestone worth celebrating and we welcome ASQA’s decision and confidence in us.”
