CDU Alice Springs is inviting the Alice Springs community to explore and discover their local university.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) Alice Springs campus is inviting the Alice Springs community to explore and discover their local university.

The CDU Alice Springs Campus is one of the only university campuses that provides education, training and research to all of Alice Springs, the surrounding communities and the Barkly.

Residents are encouraged to visit the CDU Alice Springs Campus on Friday, May 30 from 4pm to 7pm and see what the Territory’s university has to offer in hopes of inspiring future students.

Attendees will get to explore CDU’s state-of-the-art facilities, learn more about the programs and courses on offer and have a go in our health lab, creative arts studios, beauty therapy and hair salons.

This year’s Open Day also features a Trades Corner showcasing CDU’s broad range of courses in construction, license training, logistics, metal trades, advanced manufacturing, plumbing and electrical trades, as well as our industry partners and CDU lecturers to learn more about apprenticeships and traineeships.

CDU Associate Vice-Chancellor Central Australia and Barkly Jodie Summers said this is an invitation to our community to explore, connect, and envision a shared future.

“By opening our doors we can showcase our diverse programs and empower our community to pursue their aspirations right here in the heart of Australia,” Ms Summers said.

“We want to help inspire our community and give them ideas of how to find pathways to follow their passions and how those pathways are available here in the Red Centre.

“This is one of the most remote campuses in the world. The CDU Alice Springs campus gives local people something that they can take pride in, and it’s something you just don’t see in other regional towns in Australia.”

She hopes the event will become a significant date on the community calendar each year.

Other highlights include campus tours, a visit from the Reptile centre, health and community services as well as live performances by students, alumni and staff, food vendors and a kids experience zone.

The CDU Alice Springs Open Day will be held at the CDU Alice Springs campus on May 30 from 4pm to 7pm.
