International students, who completed their degrees this year at CDU’s Melbourne campus, were acclaimed recently at a valedictory ceremony in Melbourne Town Hall.

The students – from China, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Vietnam – were congratulated by Provost and Vice-President Professor Sue Carthew and Dean of Business and Law Professor David Low in the presence of university staff, family and friends.

“These international students are impressive,” Professor Carthew said of the 140 graduands, who completed degrees in Business and Commerce and Masters of Accounting and Business.

“They have succeeded in the strenuous academic environment of an Australian university, and they did so while successfully navigating a new city, new friends and a new culture. We wish them every success for the future.”

Professor Low spoke to the students about engaging with CDU Alumni and the benefits of keeping in touch with classmates and the university as they progressed in their careers.

Graduands received Charles Darwin University pins at the ceremony to memorialise their achievements, and to affirm their connection with the university.
