With a new crew lining up the tunes and delving into the issues of the day, from the wee hours to 11am, Charles Darwin University’s Territory FM radio station has made a fine fresh start in 2018.

New TFM team member David Konov, who drives the Early Mornings shift from 5am, is a long-time commercial announcer from South Australia, who spent many years in Ireland, playing a character called “Dingo” on a breakfast show.

Station Manager Matt Bern said he was excited by this new talent coming to Darwin.

“I saw great potential in his voice and in his personality, and as it turns out he’s a great fit at our station because he’s got the quickness and the flow that suit the show, Matt said.

“And along with David’s entertaining approach, we’re also fitting more music into Early Mornings to get people up and about for their day.”

Former Breakfast Show doyenne Mel Little no longer has to rise for work at an ungodly hour as she now hosts the TFM Mornings program from 8am to 11am.

“I’m really happy that we have our first female Mornings host in TFM’s long history,” Matt said.

“Mel brings a fabulous fresh feel to the program, and from the feedback we’re getting by phone and on social media, it seems our audience thinks she’s great too.”

When the new Territory FM website goes live in the next couple of months, the portal will contain a “Health Check” community feedback page, which will provide another feedback mechanism for the station team to stay in touch with audience preferences.
