A new tourism partnership between Charles Darwin University (CDU) and the Department of Industry Tourism and Trade (DITT) will increase the local workforce in the tourism and hospitality sectors in the Hermannsburg community.
Pascal has undertaken research in a number of domains at different stages of his professional career, mainly in the areas of economic analysis, tourism business and marketing, evaluation and assessment of policies and strategies aiming to enhance economic capabilities in northern Australia and address workforce challenges, including surrounding Aboriginal communities.
Dr. Muhammad has been associated with the teaching and practice of marketing for over the last 15 years. His research focuses on Sustainable Consumer Behavior in the Transport Industry and Tourism sector.
This research project is funded by the Northern Territory Government Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade through the Community Benefit Fund, which is an independent statutory body responsible for distributing government revenues associated with the collection of a 10% tax on pokies in pubs and casinos in the NT. This research is being conducted by Dr Kim M Caudwell and Dr Mal Flack, who are researchers from the Faculty of Health at Charles Darwin University (CDU), for the NT Government. CDU asked Roy Morgan Research to undertake telephone interviews for this project. Roy Morgan Research carried out the interviews for the 2015 and 2018 surveys and manage the National Drug Strategy Household Survey, the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey and are very experienced in conducting interviews for these types of surveys.
Research by a leading expert in reproductive tourism has highlighted how bans on commercial surrogacy in Thailand has done little to stop the practice rather it can often leave the surrogate feeling unsupported by the community and exploited.
