Darwin local and Charles Darwin University (CDU) student Neve McDermott has been awarded a prestigious New Colombo Plan scholarship that will see her study social work in Nepal.
We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations that are interested in hosting CDU allied health students.
The Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) is a government program that offers eligible nursing, midwifery, teaching and social work students financial support while undertaking mandatory placements. This support will enable them to gain practical experience and develop professional competence without feeling financial stress.
As an NT local, Shannon always had her sights set on CDU. Shannon has graduated with great memories from her time at uni: she travelled to Indonesia on a humanitarian research trip, made lots of new friends with social clubs, and studied hard to finish a Bachelor of Engineering/Master of Engineering (Civil & Structural).

Fifteen students identified through local jobs program and in partnership with Charles Darwin University TAFE Alice Springs will complete a 10-week intensive pre-employment program this week.
The program looked at skills required for the successful placement of individuals into the construction industry including Traffic Management, Loader Operations, Skid Steer Operations White Card, Work Health and Safety requirements, Excavation operations and more.

The Faculty of Health is offering Community Mental Health Placement Subsidies is to eligible Nursing, Social Work and Occupational Therapy students, travelling into or out of MM3-7 areas to undertake mental health/community-based placements with a focus on wellbeing.
