Acute respiratory infections are a leading cause of hospitalisation and preventable mortality among Indigenous children. With expertise in biomedical science, clinical trials and epidemiology, Dr Michael Binks leads a collaborative and multidisciplinary research program dedicated to achieving sustainable improvements in the respiratory health of Indigenous children.
Growing up in Katherine, Muriel saw first-hand the unique health challenges faced in the Northern Territory, and was keen to explore a career in the sciences. Muriel was drawn to the wide range of majors and flexibility offered by CDU’s health science courses.
