Bart Currie

Dr Bart Currie

Professor Currie leads the Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases team within the Global and Tropical Health Division at Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin.

He is also an infectious diseases physician at the Royal Darwin Hospital and Professor in Medicine at the Northern Territory Medical Program, Flinders University and Charles Darwin University.

He is Director of Rheumatic Heart Disease Australia and the Chief Investigator on the National Health and Medical Research Council-funded Darwin Prospective Melioidosis Study and the recently funded HOT NORTH initiative; Improving Health Outcomes in the Tropical North: A Multidisciplinary Collaboration.
