Kim Robertson

Ms Kim Robertson

Ms Kim Robertson is a Murri woman from Far North Queensland and has lived and worked on Larrakia Country for around 10 years.  She is a descendant of the Thanakwithi, Waanyi and Wik peoples and holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences and a Master of Arts (Indigenous Social Policy).

Kim’s first career within the Public Services in Far North Queensland and the Kimberley Region of Western Australia has grounded her knowledge and understanding of issues and opportunities for First Nations peoples, particularly across Northern Australia. 

Her work in the higher education sector spans policy and strategy, management of First Nations student services and research and leadership on Indigenous issues.

Kim’s research includes; Indigenous higher education success, cultural competency in higher education and the development of the Indigenous academic workforce. She combines an analytical and evaluative approach with pragmatic resource and people management skills.

Kim joined the CDU senior leaders as Director First Nations Leadership in October 2021 and fulfils a key management role within the portfolio and advisory role across the University on Indigenous and regional issues.  She is currently undertaking a PhD at CDU, on Senior Aboriginal Women from Cape York.
