Dr Mel Underwood

Mel Lauva

Dr Mel Underwood is the Assistant Dean of Learning Futures in the College of Nursing & Midwifery.

Dr Underwood is interested in research in the field of patient safety. More specifically, her work examines adverse event analysis.

Mel holds a PhD in Nursing and a Master of Education. In 2017 she won the People’s Choice Award in the 3MT (3 Minute Thesis) competition.

She is published in the British Journal of Nursing, The Practicing Midwife and Contemporary Nurse.
