The course focuses on developing academic knowledge and skills, including acculturation to studying Business and IT in Australia, English for postgraduate studies and critical thinking.
This course will develop advanced knowledge and skills in business communication, business ethics, organisational security and enterprise IT management. It is designed to enable you to read, write, communicate and critically analyse higher level concepts and complex issues in a discipline specific context.
You will further develop skills in reflective, autonomous and collaborative practices to successfully engage in learning and assessment activities at the postgraduate level. An underlying philosophy of the course is that academic studies at postgraduate level is a social and contextual activity that requires developing appropriate attitudes and behaviours towards studying, fellow students and the wider academic community. The course will help you achieve the CDU graduate quality outcomes and reflect the values of CDU.
Successful completion of this course allows you to gain direct entry to specific postgraduate programs at CDU. The articulation table found on the CDU International College page includes additional requirements for some postgraduate programs.

International tuition fees
The annual tuition fee for full time study in 2026 is AUD $15,896.00. This equates to $3,974.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL).
These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year.

What will I study?

Course structure
Every re-enrolling student will be able to complete their current course of study. As a continuing student you should always consider transferring to the newest course version to enable you to take advantage of new and exciting changes to university programs. Students electing not to transfer should refer to the transitional arrangements where provided.

Students are expected to spend 12-13 hours per week on each unit over a 12-week teaching period. This includes lectures, tutorials, reading, independent and group study and contact with staff members. However, additional time will be needed depending on the entry level of a student-s English language skills.
Each unit is timetabled for five hours face to face classes per week: two hours of lectures, two hours of tutorials and one hour of guided pre-reading.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 40 credit points (cp) as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.

DOMESTIC STUDENTS
To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the standard English language proficiency requirements for Higher Education courses at Charles Darwin University (CDU) and provide evidence as part of their application.
You can meet the minimum English language requirement by providing evidence of one of following:

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
To gain entry into Charles Darwin University, all Higher Education applicants must satisfy the University's English Language Proficiency Requirements for their chosen course of study.
The minimum English language requirement for this course is met by either undertaking previous education in an English-speaking country or undertaking one of the following English language tests and obtaining the minimum requirements listed below.
