CDU is committed to gender equity, developing our talent pipelines by attracting and recruiting more academic and professional women, improving the representation of women in senior and leadership positions, and providing professional and development opportunities for all women.

We are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all women to study and achieve their academic and professional aspirations. CDU’s leadership is committed to leading the way and will be accountable for ensuring that we achieve gender equity.

The university reports to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency every year, as required by law. The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requires all non-public sector employers with 100 or more employees to submit a report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.  

Organisations tendering for government contracts may need to satisfy a requirement to be compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.  Our compliance letter fulfils this requirement.   Please find CDU's WGEA Compliance Letter (PDF, 169.7 KB) for the 2022 - 2023 reporting period.

CDU is committed to developing a fully inclusive community, which is fully accessible to all staff, students and visitors with disability, a community characterised by dignified accessibility.

CDU celebrates sexual and gender diversity, and we pride ourselves on maintaining safe and supportive campuses, where people who identify as (or are questioning being) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/gender diverse, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+), can work and study free from sexual discrimination, bigotry or prejudice. 

We have a zero-tolerance approach to homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and intersexism.
