Discover the Joy of Learning Chinese Through Language and Culture
Have you ever wanted to speak Chinese with confidence while gaining a deeper understanding of one of the world's oldest and richest cultures? Whether you're learning for travel, work, family, or simply personal interest, this welcoming course is a wonderful place to begin—or continue—your Chinese language journey.
Over ten enjoyable and interactive classes, you will develop practical spoken Chinese while exploring the traditions, customs, and stories that make Chinese culture so fascinating. Every lesson combines language learning with cultural experiences, helping you understand not only how people communicate in Chinese, but also why they express themselves in certain ways.
Together, we will explore topics such as:
Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) celebrations and festive greetings
Chinese food culture and dining etiquette
The meaning and traditions behind Chinese names
Traditional Chinese wedding customs
Gift-giving etiquette and social traditions
The beauty of Peking Opera
Chinese calligraphy
The timeless poetry of the Tang Dynasty
Traditional Chinese architecture
China's magnificent mountains, rivers, and the rich cultural heritage of its many ethnic communities
Each class offers plenty of opportunities to practice speaking in a relaxed and supportive environment. Through practical conversations, cultural sharing, and interactive activities, you'll gain confidence using authentic Chinese in everyday situations while discovering the customs, values, and history that bring the language to life.
This course is designed for adult learners with beginner to intermediate Chinese language skills. If you've learned some Chinese before and would like to move beyond memorising words and phrases to truly connect with the language and the people who speak it, you'll feel right at home.
Come and join our friendly learning community, meet fellow language enthusiasts, and experience the richness of Chinese language and culture together. We look forward to welcoming you!
