Erica protected turtles in the Amazon
As part of her science degree, Erica crossed Brazil off her travel bucket list with a two-week field intensive.
“The trip was a means to learn and work in an environment that was of interest to me, while gaining valuable field experience that would help me find employment in the future,” she says.
The trip took her to an “incredibly beautiful corner of the world, where few people have the opportunity to travel.”

Dion travelled to rural India on a scholarship
Thanks to a scholarship, Dion received financial support to attend the Design Summit delivered by Engineers Without Borders in rural India.
“The highlight of my experience in India was to learn and understand that the way some things are achieved in Australia isn’t necessarily the way it’s done abroad,” says the engineering student. “It’s okay if things are done differently.
“If I had one piece of advice to offer anyone considering studying overseas, it would be: just do it.”

William made friends for life all over the world
“Studying overseas was something I always wanted to do,” says William, who studied teaching at CDU. “The CDU team was willing to jump through all manner of hoops to make my dreams a reality. Before I knew it, I was on a plane to Germany to spend four weeks at Philipps-Universität of Marburg.
“I made some of the best friends I could ever have, even though we are now separated by the entire planet. Every night we would pile into someone’s room and just enjoy each other’s company.”

Paul interned at Harvard Law School
“The prospect of interning at Harvard Law School was too good to ignore,” says Paul, who’s studying law at CDU.
“To be able to develop a solid understanding of US immigration law, to work firsthand within a clinic which does such good work for the most vulnerable people – it was the chance of a lifetime!
But, he says, “It’s not all work, no play, and while there you make the most of it.”
