Overview
The Post Graduate Certificate of Safety and Quality in Health Service Delivery provides the graduate with the knowledge and skills required to implement and lead safety and quality in their health service. The degree examines governance frameworks and national standards used by health care providers, their application and use during accreditation of health services. Developed for those working in or planning to work in healthcare, the degree critiques the underpinning factors in safety and quality and provides students with best practice approaches that facilitate connection between healthcare service and consumer. The degree is offered part-time over one year.

This qualification prepares you to work in safety and quality roles in health care organisations. Completing this degree may lead to a career working in safety and quality across a range of health care service providers. This course will provide the graduate with a comprehensive understanding of the use of safety and quality, clinical governance, and accreditation standards in health care.

(a) be an Australian citizen, who will complete some of your course of study while resident in Australia; or

What will I study?
This degree is offered part-time over one year.
Course structure
The degree contains three core units (total of 40 credit points) designed to support the learner to build a comprehensive understanding of safety and quality and accreditation within health care. Students will complete carefully constructed units guided by contemporary educational practices and the needs of health care to gain advanced knowledge in safety, quality and accreditation.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 40 credit points (cp) as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.

To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the standard English language proficiency requirements for Higher Education courses at Charles Darwin University (CDU) and provide evidence as part of their application.
