Dr Christine Fejo-King graduated from the former Northern Territory University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Social Work. She is a foundation member of the Australian College of Social Work and was Chairperson of the National Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Worker’s Association for 11 years.

Throughout her career, Christine has undertaken key roles in policy development across National Indigenous projects around drug and alcohol issues, community violence, and social and emotional well-being. She served as the Indigenous Chair of the Stolen Generation Alliance in the lead-up to the National Apology to the Stolen Generations in 2007, leading negotiations with politicians, bureaucrats and other stakeholders.

Christine is currently serving as the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities Elder in Residence, providing high level advice on building stronger relationships with Aboriginal Communities and Families, and is responsible for providing strategic cultural policy and program advice across the department.
