A familiar face around CDU is recognised for his training chops

September 2023 edition
Brendan Reid

A Charles Darwin University (CDU) Language and Learning Advisor has been selected as a finalist for the Australian Training Awards in the category of Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice.

Brendan Reid first joined CDU in mid-2010 to coordinate the new VET learner support program, where he worked until 2021 before joining the newly formed Language and Learning Support team, which is part of the CDU library.

During this time, Mr Reid has supported a cohort of students in an impressive range of disciplines and contexts.

He is greatly appreciated by his students, support colleagues and TAFE lecturers and his nomination was supported by a raft of testimonials highlighting his skills and his expertise.

On August 29, he was invited by a group of selection panelists to give a presentation and interview, in which he was able to demonstrate that he truly is unique in the sector.

The final ceremony will be in Hobart on November 17 and all those who know him will be behind him all the way as he deserves this recognition after working for so long and with such dedication for CDU.
