These are high demand course reading materials identified by teaching staff as they develop their units of study. eReadings include journal articles, book chapters and lecture notes. Students can access eReading materials from any networked device with their CDU credentials.

The exam papers for the previous four years are available online for CDU students and staff to access. Students can access past exam papers from any networked device with their CDU credentials.

This book dispensing unit contains a small collection of high-demand textbooks required for units delivered at the Waterfront campus. The items in this collection are 2-day loans and can't be requested or sent to other locations.
Casuarina campus Library holds a print collection of legal texts, primary law materials and journals. Current resources are provided in electronic format where available.
Current periodicals are available electronically. Older editions are stored offsite in our Store facility and we will retrieve them for you, just ask us.
Special collections and archives
These collections comprise broad, interdisciplinary, published and unpublished material dealing with Northern Australia and contiguous maritime and land areas. Ask us if you'd like to view an physical item and we'll retrieve it for you.
The East Timor Collection - This collection contains materials published in Portuguese during the Salazarist dictatorship from 1926 to 1974. Currently 36 titles from the Collection published between 1885-1985, mainly in Portuguese, have been digitised and now form part of the Arafura Digital Archive (AraDA). A collection of 1640 titles covering the Portuguese period in East Timor.
The Living Archive of Aboriginal Languages - a digital archive of endangered literature in Indigenous languages of the Northern Territory.
Photograph collections - CDU has historically significant collections such as the Shewring and Vesteys Collection. There are also photographs documenting the history of Charles Darwin University.
Rare book collection - Held at Casuarina campus Library. Items are restricted from general use as they are rare or fragile. Ask us if you'd like to view an item and we'll retrieve it for you.
Kevin Sherlock collection -A unique collection of resources relating to Timor Leste, including published and unpublished materials. The collection was gifted to the Charles Darwin University Library by the late Kevin Sherlock. Items are listed in Library Search and located at our Palmerston campus Library. Ask us if you'd like to view an item and we'll retrieve it for you.
Arafura Research Archive - Collects, preserves and makes available records relating to research in the Northern Territory and region. Topics covered document social, educational, military and political history. Some of the treasures in the collection relate to bilingual education in remote NT communities, the history of South East Asia, the emotive history of the Territory's short-lived Rights of the Terminally Ill Act (NT Euthanasia Collection) and the evolution of the University.
