Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)

Receive study assistance from a student who has done your subject well.
PASS logo

Do you want to improve your marks, meet other students and study your unit content in a relaxed, friendly and focussed way?

If so, why not join a Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS)?

What is PASS?

PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) are group study sessions conducted by PASS leaders – current students who have successfully completed the targeted unit.

PASS sessions are designed to maximise your understanding of the unit content, in a fun, informal environment. PASS sessions will also help you to develop study skills, as well as exam and assessment techniques specific to the unit. Students who regularly attend sessions often see a significant improvement in their results.

For information on the times and venues for sessions, see the timetable below.

PASS Leaders

PASS Leaders are current students who are trained to run weekly group study sessions. They scored a high mark in the unit they support and have a high GPA overall.

By participating in PASS, you will learn the secrets of their success while developing independent learning skills.

I wish I'd known that podcast

Students chat with former PASS Coordinator Andrew about their experience of starting University.

Hello! I'm a third-year, Bachelor of Nursing student, living in Melbourne and studying externally. I have two children, aged four and 6 months and work casually in the disability sector. I had no prior knowledge of anything nursing related when I first started this degree.

I found that surrounding myself with hard-working, kind, helpful, engaging, and approachable peers (especially those that make you laugh mid-meltdown) has helped me interpret a mountain of information and subsequently, motivated me throughout this journey of the university. This is what I aim for my PASS sessions to entail.

ACT102 Gyanu Khatri

Hello Everyone,  I am an international student from Nepal doing a Bachelor of Accounting. I will be conducting a Peer Assisted Study Session for ACT102. I am very excited to help and support students studying ACT102 in their studies through the group study session.

My best piece of study advice is to study the suggested textbook in detail along with the lecture note and slides. This will help students to get in-depth knowledge of the topic and broaden their understanding. Mutually, students should not forget to practice different types of questions to build their confidence and obviously practising past exams questions will help students to understand what to expect in their final examination.
