Request resources

Find out if we have what you want

Go to Library Search and find what you need, log in to see the request option.

Choose your pick-up location and we’ll get it there for you.

If you live more than 80kms from us, either choose “Home address” for your pick-up location or, if that option isn’t there, leave us a note in the notes field about where we should send the resource.

Found something you'd like to see but it's in our Special Collections, Store or Rare Books Collection? We'll retrieve it for you. Request to view it.

Do you want to add a resource to a Reading List for your students?

Use the Reading List Guide for information about how to create and add resources to a Reading List.

Do you need something we don’t have in our collection?

This service does not apply to resources we have in our collection that are out on loan or prescribed textbooks.

Make sure to check if the resource is freely available online before placing a request.

From within Library Search:

  • Choose the option to “Add results outside CDU library”
  • If you find what you want, open the record and select "Interlibrary loan request", fill in the required information and click on "Request".
  • If what you want is still not available, click on "Request non-CDU item".  Select the appropriate form for the type of resource you want. Complete the form and click on "Submit".
  • Then select 'Interlibrary loan request', fill in the required information and click on "Request".

Do you want us to buy something for you?

Make sure to use Library Search to check if the Library already has what you want before submitting a purchase request. Wherever available, the Library buys electronic versions of resources rather than print.

Use the purchase request form to recommend a resource for purchase. If you would like to recommend a journal subscription or database, please contact a Librarian.

If you would like us to purchase a resource for use in a unit, go to the Request resource tab of our Reading List Guide and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Prescribed texts

Prescribed texts need to be requested via the unit Reading List. The library will notify the CDU Bookshop of prescribed texts required for units. Students are expected to purchase their own prescribed texts as the library purchases limited copies.

CDU Library has an e-first policy and will aim to purchase the eBook of prescribed texts wherever possible.
