Vincent Perry once busked on the streets of Queensland to pay his TAFE tuition but now is an accomplished percussionist with Darwin Symphony Orchestra and bringing his skills to the classroom as Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) new Lecturer in Contemporary Music.

Dr Perry, who grew up in South East Queensland, is passionate about music-making. He has a particular love of soul music and vintage music gear, including vintage drum kits, and has spent many years as a drummer in a wedding band.

Manburrba: our story of printed cloth from Bábbarra Women’s Centre celebrates the creative journey undertaken by Maningrida women over the past 37 years, featuring more than 70 striking and colourful hand-printed textiles made by 24 artists, as well as limited edition prints-on-paper, sculptures and basketry.

It is the first major survey exhibition of Bábbarra’s textile printmaking to be held in the Northern Territory.

Ranger trainees from across the Top End have become certified through the 'Ranger Ready' program, combining traditional knowledge with conservation training.

Developed in coordination with local ranger groups and the Northern Land Council, the program hosted around 150 participants this year, most of whom are First Nations people from remote communities.

CDU TAFE Lecturer Jacqui Paine was the lead coordinator for the two-week intensive in Kakadu National Park.
