Finding solutions to the dire challenges facing the health workforce in rural and remote areas to better support Territorians, particularly First Nations people, was the focus of a Symposium at the Convention Centre in Alice Springs held recently.
The Better Health Futures Symposium brought together the diverse perspectives and experience of influential leaders, rural and remote health experts, educators and researchers to address health challenges spanning the Northern Territory.
Vincent Perry once busked on the streets of Queensland to pay his TAFE tuition but now is an accomplished percussionist with Darwin Symphony Orchestra and bringing his skills to the classroom as Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) new Lecturer in Contemporary Music.
Dr Perry, who grew up in South East Queensland, is passionate about music-making. He has a particular love of soul music and vintage music gear, including vintage drum kits, and has spent many years as a drummer in a wedding band.
