Professor Fiona Coulson
Professor Fiona Coulson is the Interim Vice-Chancellor of Charles Darwin University, based in Darwin on Larrakia Country in the Top End of Australia. Appointed to the role in February 2026, she provides leadership across the University, with a strong focus on the quality of learning and teaching, and the overall student experience.
Professor Coulson commenced at Charles Darwin University in 2022 as Pro Vice-Chancellor Education Strategy, before moving into the roles of Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and Provost. Prior to joining Charles Darwin University, Professor Coulson held senior roles at CQUniversity, The University of Queensland, Griffith University, and Johns Hopkins University.
Professor Coulson has over three decades of experience in tertiary education, academic leadership and management, including as Deputy Vice-President (Education Strategy and Innovation), Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Development), and as a Dean of School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences.
Professor Coulson has a background in biomedical research, spanning multiple institutions across Australia and the United States.
