The First Nations Student Support Team is a crucial point of contact and support for Australian First Nations students studying at CDU.

Our student support team is dedicated to helping First Nations students feel connected, supported, and confident in achieving their educational goals. We offer advice and assistance in many forms, including

  • Pathways into university
  • Study plans and unit selection
  • Scholarships
  • Advanced Standing RPL
  • Referrals to specialised services i.e.: Counselling and Access and Inclusion
  • Academic Language Learning support
  • Advocacy

  • One-on-one Teams consultation via appointment

First Nations Study Hubs

Garamilla (Larrakia Country)

The Gurinbey Centre at CDU’s Casuarina campus provides a culturally safe and welcoming space for First Nations students. It includes computers, printers, lockers, a self-contained kitchen, and a calming sensory space, with after-hours access available.

At the Danala City campus, First Nations students can access a dedicated room located next to the library, featuring modern kitchen facilities and state-of-the-art teaching spaces, which are also available after hours.

Mparntwe (Alice Springs)

The Akaltye Centre, situated on Arrernte Country at the Mparntwe (Alice Springs) campus, provides a culturally
safe study hub equipped with computers, printers, and a self-contained kitchen, offering a supportive environment
for learning and connection.
