First Nations Tutorial Support (TS)
The University’s First Nations Student Services Tutorial Support Program provides free individual and group tutoring to eligible Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. Students can receive support if enrolled in either Higher Education Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses or TAFE courses.

Student Eligibility
- To be eligible for Tutorial Support a student must:
- Identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted in the community in which he/she lives or has lived; and
- be currently enrolled in an awarded Certificate III or higher CDU course.
Students who are studying a Certificate I or II qualification may only be assisted if the units being undertaken are prerequisite work and part of a course of study leading to the attainment of a Certificate III level or above qualification.
Tutorial support hours
Tutoring can range from 1 – 8 hours per week. Each individual contract depends on the student’s course enrolment and semester/term duration which is identified once the student application is received.

Tutors are a highly valued and integral to the Indigenous Student Support portfolio and the wider CDU community. All tutors must be culturally aware, have a sound academic background and/or relevant skills and can work positively, productively, and sensitively with Indigenous students.
Register to be a tutor online
Download and return the pdf form (Tutor Registration Form (PDF 107KB) (PDF, 166.73 KB) to the Tutorial Support Team with the following documents:
- Cover letter identifying demonstrated topic skills and experience.
- Current Curriculum Vitae.
- Current Ochre Card or state equivalent.
- Academic transcript or proof of qualification/s; and
- Photo identification (passport, license, etc.).
- Qualification and identification documents must be certified by a registered Justice of Peace or Commissioner of Oath unless originals are provided for verification by the Tutorial Support team.
