The first round of 2023 graduation ceremonies have taken place in the Territory, with over 2,000 Charles Darwin University (CDU) students completing their studies.

The cohort included 1,088 students in Higher Education, 1,078 in Vocational Education and Training, and 11 PhD graduates.

Charles Darwin University researchers have released the Northern Territory’s First Social Capital Index which shows that more than half (52 per cent) of the measured opportunities for community connection are being used by Territorians to build social capital.

The Social Capital Index gives values to the importance of community strength in making a good life for everyone in the Territory.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) has joined forces with Darwin Symphony Orchestra (DSO) to hold a performance at the University’s Casuarina campus.

The two organisations presented a ‘Sunset Symphony”, the first performance to be held on campus in several years.

The 60-piece orchestra comprised of string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments performed classical pieces including Prokofiev’s enchanting Romeo and Juliet and Bizet’s Carmen.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) will endorse the YES vote in the national referendum into whether Australia should have a First Nations Voice to Parliament.

The decision to endorse the YES campaign was made recently by the University Council and makes a strong statement as to how CDU values First Nations peoples.

CDU Deputy Vice-Chancellor First Nations Leadership and Engagement, Professor Reuben Bolt, welcomed the decision and said it was a great move by Council.

The life and memory of Charles Darwin University (CDU) student Md Isfaqur Rahman (Sifat) was honoured at a tribute concert last month. 

The MonkMoney Tribute Concert for Sifat was organised by the Bangladeshi Student Association of Charles Darwin University (BSACDU) and the Bangladeshi Alumni Association of Charles Darwin University (BAACDU) and held at the CDU Amphitheatre at the Casuarina campus on Saturday, May 13.
