Photo Synthesis: CDU’s Research Through the Lens is a biennial photography competition and exhibition that celebrates the remarkable research undertaken across Charles Darwin University. Now in its second year, the initiative invites academics from all faculties and disciplines to submit their most striking and insightful images captured in the field, lab, studio, or beyond. From the microscopic to the biological, from wildlife encounters to sweeping landscapes, the shortlisted photographs—selected by a panel of expert judges— offer a vivid window into the breadth and impact of CDU’s research.
